As of 24.08.2011, this Indiana girl will be officially living abroad in Bangalore, India.

Having recently [finally] completed an undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education, I will be the new Special Education teacher at an NGO school that serves children from impoverished backgrounds and seeks to “break the cycle of poverty.”

After spending two months in this school as part of a student teaching/unpaid internship experience, helping to set up a brand-new special education program, I decided to accept a “permanent” position as a special educator. Everything sort of fell into place as I have a good place to stay, which includes all my room & board, the start of a small group of friends, and the chance to shape a special education program in a place where this is a relatively novel branch of education.
